The Anton Saefkow Library at Fennpfuhl offers a wide range of books and other media on two levels and plenty of space to work, to use free WLAN, to read and for many other activities. Events for children, young people and adults are held regularly. To promote reading, language and media skills, the library works closely with kindergarten and schools. In 2011 it has been „library of the year“. The Library Award of the German Library Association and the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius recognises outstanding and exemplary library work. For anyone who wants to know more about the digital services offered by the libraries, there are internet, smartphone and e-book reader consultation hours at the four locations of the Lichtenberg City Library.
The selection of current media, analog and digital, is diverse: There are entertaining or challenging reads, exciting films or series, travel guides or guides for professional challenges, suggestions for creative leisure activities, and much more. Consulting services offered by local institutions and information events with experts provide insights into practical everyday topics and trends. Readings and talks enable encounters with well-known authors, concerts or cabaret performances invite to a cultural experience.
