A memorial plaque has been added to the "Mother and Child" sculpture on Freiaplatz in Lichtenberg. The plaque commemorates Liselotte (Lilo) Herrmann, who was murdered in Plötzensee on June 20, 1938 for her anti-fascist resistance. Lilo Herrmann was one of the first women and young mothers on whom the Nazi regime carried out a political death sentence. The bronze sculpture created by the sculptor Sabina Grzimek in 1981 and erected in 1984 is dedicated to the determined opponent of the Nazi regime.
